SSY: Want to transfer Sukanya Samriddhi account, then know what is its complete process

Whenever it comes to securing the future of daughters, the name of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) definitely comes. This is a scheme of the Government of India, under which an account can be opened for a girl child up to 10 years of age in any authorized bank or post office. One has to invest in this scheme for 15 years and after 21 years this scheme becomes mature. In SSY, you can invest a minimum of Rs 250 annually and a maximum of Rs 1,50,000.

Recently, the government has also increased the interest of Sukanya Samriddhi. Now this interest will be available at the rate of 8 percent. That is, with better interest on this scheme, you can collect a substantial amount for the daughter.

What is the method of account transfer

Step 1: The facility to open Sukanya Samriddhi account online or transfer account is not yet given, so you have to go to the branch of the bank or post office where you have opened Sukanya Samriddhi account with your KYC documents. However, once the account is opened, money can be deposited online in it.

Step 2: Bank or Post Office wherever you have opened Sukanya Samriddhi account, you will have to go to that branch and talk to transfer the account and give an application. After this you will be provided a form for transfer. Fill this form carefully.

Step 3: In the form, you will also have to enter the name and address of the new bank or post office to which you want to transfer the Sukanya account. After this the bank or post office will check your form and start the transfer process and will send the documents related to your account to the branch where you want to transfer the account.

Step 4: As soon as your account related documents and details reach the new bank, the process of opening your account will be started there.

Step 5: Your account will be re-opened in the new bank. In such a situation, you will have to fill the SSY Account Opening Form and submit it again and also submit the KYC documents again. After submitting the documents along with the form, the bank will verify your documents. After this your account will open.
