This proposal, which was passed by the Delhi government last year, has now got the approval of the President, due to which, apart from the MLAs, the salaries of the ministers and the Chief Minister have also been increased.
67 percent increase in the salary of MLAs
According to the new salary slab, the Chief Minister’s salary, which was Rs 72 thousand earlier, has now increased to Rs 1.70 lakh per month. This means that after the implementation of the new slab, where there has been an increase of 67 percent in the salary of the MLAs, there has been an increase of 136 percent in the salary of the CM.
It is noteworthy that in July last year, a proposal to increase the salaries of MLAs, Ministers and the Chief Minister was passed in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, which has now been approved by the President and now the Law Department of Delhi Government has issued a notification in this regard.

Salary of MLAs has increased after 12 years
It is noteworthy that the last increase in the salary of MLAs in Delhi was done 12 years ago. The new slab of salary will be applicable from 14 February 2023. According to the old salary slab, MLAs used to get 12 thousand rupees as basic salary, which has now been increased to 30 thousand, while DA has also been increased from 1000 to 1500.

The Aam Aadmi Party had also proposed to increase the salary in December 2015, in which it was said to increase the salary of each MLA from 54 thousand to 2.10 lakh, but the central government had canceled it.
