RBI Penalty: RBI slapped a fine of 2.25 crores on this big bank, you don’t even have an account

RBI Penalty: RBI  has imposed a penalty of Rs 2.27 crore on RBL Bank Ltd. (RBL Bank Ltd.) for non-compliance of rules related to debt recovery agent. Let’s know about it in detail.

The RBI said in a statement that the penalty was for non-compliance with certain provisions of the Internal Ombudsman Scheme, 2018, Fair Practices Code for Banks, Credit Card Operations, Risk Management of Banks and Outsourcing of Financial Services and Recovery Agents.

Apart from this, fine has also been imposed on District Co-operative Central Bank Maryadit of Raisen (Madhya Pradesh), Smriti Nagrik Sahakari Bank of Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh), Raigarh Co-operative Bank of Mumbai, Noble Co-operative Bank Limited of Noida (Uttar Pradesh). The penalty has been imposed on these banks for lapses at the level of compliance with the rules.
