The central government is running an insurance for the citizens of the country, which can be purchased by paying a small amount. People aged 18 to 50 can buy the government’s insurance policy.
The government is running many schemes for the economic and social security of the citizens of the country. There is one such scheme for the common citizens of the country, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana). Every section of the country gets benefits through this insurance scheme.
Under this insurance scheme, a very small amount has to be paid once in a year to buy the policy. Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana was started by the government in the year 2015. Citizens of the country can buy this policy by paying every year and can avail the benefits of insurance.
Rs 2 lakh claim
Under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), the nominee gets an insurance claim of up to two lakh rupees if the person taking the policy dies due to any reason. Jeevan Jyoti insurance policy can be bought by persons aged 18 to 50 years. The age of maturity of Jeevan Jyoti insurance policy is 55 years. This term plan has to be renewed every year.
If the premium is not deposited in any year, then the benefit of insurance will not be available and your scheme will be considered closed. But one facility is that whenever you want, you can enter this scheme till the age of 55 years.
Will have to pay so much every year
To buy the policy of Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Rs 436 will have to be paid every year. Before the year 2022, only Rs 330 had to be paid to buy the policy. The government later increased it to Rs 436. The premium for this insurance is valid from June 1 to May 30. The best thing is that taking this policy is very easy. You can take a policy under this scheme by visiting any bank branch or sitting at home through your bank’s net banking.
Term insurance plan
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is a term insurance plan of the Modi government. Term plan means that the insurance company pays the amount of insurance only in case of death of the policyholder during the insurance policy. If the policyholder remains well even after the completion of Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, then he does not get any benefit.
A large number of people from rural areas are connected
So far 16.19 crore accounts have been covered under Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. At the same time, a claim of Rs 13,290.40 crore has been settled under this scheme. If we talk about the beneficiaries of this scheme, then 52 percent women are the beneficiaries. A total of 72 percent people from rural areas have bought insurance policies under this scheme.
Aadhaar-PAN is required
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) was launched on 9 May 2015 by the Central Government to provide the benefit of life insurance to every person in the country. Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport size photo, bank passbook and mobile number are required to take the policy under Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana.
