This is an accident insurance. Its benefit is available in case of disability or death in an accident.

Know who can apply

Any citizen of the country whose age is between 18 and 70 years can apply for this scheme. It is necessary for the candidate to have a savings bank account. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the person has to go to the bank where he has a bank account. There, he has to ask the bank manager or any bank employee to avail this scheme. The bank will give a form. By filling it, one can join this scheme. If you do online banking, then you can also apply for it online.

Amount deducted from the account

The premium of this insurance is Rs 20 per year. This premium is deducted directly from the bank account. A policy has to be renewed after one year. For this, you have to contact the bank or you can also renew online.

If you do not want to go to the bank every year, then you can ask the bank for auto debit. This will eliminate the need to renew every year and the amount will be deducted directly from the account. Every year on June 1, the premium amount is deducted from the account.

This is the benefit

The benefit of this scheme is available only if the insured person dies in an accident or becomes disabled. That means the insurance amount is up to Rs 2 lakh. However, the amount received in case of disability depends on the extent of disability.

  • In case of loss of both eyes or both hands and legs or loss of one eye, one hand or one leg in an accident, Rs 2 lakh will be given.
  • 2 lakh rupees will be received on death.
  • If in an accident, one eye, one leg or one hand stops working then Rs 1 lakh is given to the insured.
