How to Pay Advance Tax Online Offline The last date for depositing advance tax is 15 March. You can easily deposit your tax online and offline by following the steps given below.

Any person whose tax liability during a financial year is Rs 10,000 or more has to pay advance tax. The special thing about advance tax is that like normal tax payment, you do not have to pay it in lump sum, but in four different installments, the date of which is decided by the Income Tax Department. The next date for filing advance tax for the financial year 2022-23 is March 15.

How to pay advance tax online?

  • First of all go to the official website www.tin-nsdl.com to pay advance tax.
  • Then go to the ‘Services’ section and click on epayement: Pay Taxes Online.
  • After that select the correct challan for paying advance tax.
  • After this, fill the information sought in the form like assessment year, address, phone number, bank name, email address and captcha etc.
  • Check once after filling all the details.
  • You will then be redirected to the net banking page of the bank. Pay after that.
  • After that you will get advance tax payment receipt with challan number. Your advance tax has been deposited.

How to Pay Advance Tax Offline?

  • First of all you have to go to the branch of the bank.
  • Then challan 280 has to be filled to pay advance tax.
  • In this form, you will have to fill assessment year, address, phone number, bank name, email address and other information just like online.
  • After this, you have to pay by going to the concerned bank counter with cash or check.
  • After this, a receipt will be given to you by the bank and your advance tax has been deposited.

What happens if excess advance tax is deposited?

If you deposit more advance tax than you are liable to pay during the year, you need not worry at all. If the Income Tax Department feels that you have paid more tax than your liability, then your tax refund will be given. If the refund is not received, you can claim it by filling Form 30.
