Pan card User Update: Important news for PAN card holders. In fact, according to a report, it is being said that these PAN card holders will be fined Rs 10,000. Only a few days left to avoid the fine.
It is mandatory to link PAN card with identity card Aadhaar, which is necessary for financial transactions. For this, the Income Tax Department has given an opportunity to PAN users for the second time. The Income Tax Department has said that before March 31, PAN holders should link their PAN with Aadhaar.
If this does not happen, after April 1, users may have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for the use of PAN. Less than 14 days are left for the PAN-Aadhaar link deadline to end.
The Income Tax Department has been continuously informing PAN card holders for the last one month asking them to link PAN with Aadhaar. The Income Tax Department has said that PAN cards will become inactive from April 1, so PAN holders should link it before March 31, 2023, otherwise they may have to face huge losses.
The Income Tax Department has told the PAN card holders that according to the Income Tax Act 1961, all the PAN holders who do not come under the exemption category, should link their PAN number with Aadhaar number before March 31, 2023.
10,000 fine for use after April 1-
The Income Tax Department has said that in case the card is not linked to Aadhaar, from April 1, 2023, your PAN will be canceled under Section-139AA of the Income Tax Act. After this the PAN card cannot be used. According to the Income Tax Act, there is a provision to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 for using an inactive PAN card.
Now link PAN with Aadhaar by paying late fee of Rs 1,000.
The Income Tax Department has not charged any fee for linking PAN users with Aadhaar till 1 July 2022. But after July 2022, the deadline for linking PAN has been extended till March 31, 2023 and for this a late fee of Rs 1,000 has also been fixed. Therefore, PAN users can link PAN with Aadhaar by paying a fine of Rs 1,000.
Online process to link PAN Aadhaar-
- The online process of linking PAN with Aadhaar is very easy.
- PAN users will have to visit the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department (www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in).
- After this register yourself on the website. Here PAN number will be the user ID.
- Now login by entering User ID, Password and Date of Birth.
- Click on the option ‘Link Aadhaar’ on the website.
- After this, go to the profile setting of the account.
- – An option to link Aadhaar card will appear in the profile setting, select it.
- Now enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code.
- Now click on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option shown below.
- After completing this process, your PAN card will be linked with Aadhaar.
