New launch Insurance Policy: Good news for farmers, this insurance scheme started, know how to get benefit

In this time of trouble, the government has restarted the much-awaited Livestock Insurance Scheme, which was closed for five years, while providing support to the cattle rearers.

The Central Government has restarted the Livestock Insurance Scheme operated under Risk Management under the National Live Stock Mission. The Oriental Insurance Company has been authorized to insure 1000 cattle in Barmer district. Every veterinary doctor of the district has been allotted a target of getting 20 animals insured.

Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Vinay Mohan Khatri told that maximum five animals of each family will be insured. He said that to get the animals insured under this scheme, 4.42 percent of the annual insurance payment will have to be given to the animal owner. The premium rates which will be borne by the central and state government, 70 percent grant of premium for SC-ST and BPL cattle herders and 50 percent grant of premium for other cadre cattle herders. Based on the cost of animals, health of animals and milk production capacity, it will be decided by the representatives of the veterinarian and the insurance company that how much profit will be received.

The Regional Manager of The Oriental Insurance Company, Devendrasinh Chauhan said that many facilities have been provided to the cattle herders for insurance. To get insurance, animal parents will have to contact the in-charge and animal insurance friend at the nearest veterinary center. Where he can easily get his animal insured. However, application form, health certificate of animal, photo along with ear tag of animal, BPL card, copy of document related to SC-ST, bank name, account number, IFC code, Aadhaar card, premium amount will have to be given to the cattle owner. .

Not only this, if the tag of the animal is lost, the company will have to inform about it within 48 hours. In case of death of the animal, the claim will have to be sent after informing the insurance company immediately after getting the post-mortem done from the nearest veterinarian. The carcass of the dead animal will have to be kept safe for 24 hours for the representative of the insurance company to inspect it, otherwise the animal owner will not get the benefit of insurance.

However, the Livestock Insurance Scheme, which started about 5 years ago, will not only provide support to the cattle herders, but will also provide means of earning their livelihood.
