CBDT has extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar with PAN from March 31, 2023 to March 31, 2024. You can link Aadhaar with PAN till 31 March 2024.

New Delhi. If you also have a PAN card, then this news is very important for you. PAN card holders are advised to link their Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar Card number by March 31, 2024. If you do not link your PAN with Aadhaar before this deadline, then your PAN card can also be deactivated. Along with this, you will also have to pay Rs 1,000 for linking PAN with Aadhaar.

The Income Tax Department has mentioned on its website that “CBDT has extended the deadline for linking of Aadhaar with PAN from 31st March 2023 to 31st March 2024. You can link Aadhaar with PAN till 31 March 2024. If the PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar by March 31, the existing PAN card will become inactive. After which you will face problems in many things including bank transactions.

These PAN card holders will have to pay Rs 10,000.

Further, if the person presents a PAN card, which is no longer valid, then under section 272N of the Income Tax Act 1961, the Assessing Officer may direct that such person pay Rs 10,000 as penalty. Will pay an amount of Rs.

There will be a problem in doing these things

1. If there is no PAN and Aadhaar link, you will face problems in transactions.

2. You will not be able to withdraw more than Rs 5000 from the bank at a time without PAN.

3. If you want to get a new debit or credit card, it will not be possible.

4. There will be problems in opening a bank account as well.

5. In case of no PAN DDS or TCS deduction, you will have to pay more tax.

To link PAN and Aadhaar link, first of all you have to go to the Income Tax website. Enter the name, PAN number and Aadhaar number as given in the Aadhaar card. Tick ​​the square if only the year of birth is given in the Aadhaar card. Now enter the captcha code, now click on the Link Aadhaar button. Your PAN will be linked with Aadhaar.
