Along with this, insurance companies have been asked to set social media guidelines for the employees. Regarding which IRDAI has issued information and cyber security guidelines to insurance companies. The insurance company will have to ensure that no employee is able to pass on un-verified and confidential information to the public.
Do not share private information on social media platforms
According to IRDA, the image of any organization is also related to the behavior of its employees. Therefore, social media should be used by the employees in such a way that it increases the business value of the organization. In this segment of cyber security, a special chapter has been given on “Appropriate use of social media”, which states that the employee shall not post on any blog/discussion platform/chatting platform/social networking site/messenger lite or any social media platform Refrain from sharing unconfirmed or private information.
Employees should take care of these things during personal post
Apart from this, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has also advised to issue guidelines for the employees regarding personal posts. When posting any personal information, employees must make it clear that the views shared on the post are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of the Company.
Also, before sharing any kind of official information, the employees should also take permission from the Corporate Communication team of the organization. No person should also make any kind of comment regarding any organization or its business on personal website or social media platform.
