Jeevan Jyoti insurance policy can be purchased by persons aged between 18 to 50 years. According to the data released in May 2023, so far 16.19 crore accounts have been covered under the Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme. At the same time, a claim of Rs 13,290.40 crore has been settled under this scheme.
The central government is running many schemes to make the citizens of the country financially strong and secure. Through this insurance scheme, the government provides insurance to every section of the citizens of the country at a very low amount. Any citizen can get insurance up to Rs 2 lakh by paying just Rs 436 annually. The government started Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme in the year 2015.
You will have to pay this much money every year
To buy the policy of Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme, you will have to pay Rs 436 every year. Before the year 2022, only Rs 330 had to be paid to buy the policy. The government later increased it to Rs 436. The premium of this insurance is valid from June 1 to May 30. Through this scheme, you can take this policy by visiting any bank branch or sitting at home through net banking of your bank.
Jeevan Jyoti insurance policy can be purchased by persons aged between 18 to 50 years. The maturity age of Jeevan Jyoti insurance policy is 55 years. This term plan has to be renewed every year. If the premium is not deposited in any year, you will not get the benefit of insurance and your scheme will be considered closed.
How much amount can be claimed?
Under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), in case of death of the person taking the policy due to any reason, the nominee gets an insurance claim of up to Rs 2 lakh. The premium of this insurance is valid from June 1 to May 30. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is a term insurance plan of the Modi government.
Term plan means that the insurance company pays the insurance amount only if the policyholder dies during the term of the insurance policy. If the policyholder remains well even after the completion of the Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana period, then he does not get any benefit.
Basis is necessary
To provide the benefit of life insurance to every person in the country, the Modi government at the Center had started the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) on 9 May 2015. To take the policy under Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme, Aadhar card, PAN card, passport size photo, bank passbook and mobile number are required.
