This plan starts at Rs 59 for the whole year and gives coverage up to Rs 1 lakh. Under this plan, treatment, hospitalization, diagnostics and ICU expenses will be covered for more than 10 diseases including dengue, malaria, chikungunya and swine flu. The company said that this plan is not seasonal but is valid throughout the year.

PhonePe has specially designed it for people living in tier-2 and tier-3 cities of the country, where access to health insurance is limited. This plan is also beneficial for working professionals as an additional coverage to corporate health insurance. Vishal Gupta, CEO of PhonePe Insurance Broking Services, said that the aim of this plan is to make insurance affordable and accessible. This is a big step towards providing health coverage to underserved areas through digital means.
