 Health insurance policy holders can now take cashless treatment from any hospital. For this, GIC has started a new campaign.
Health Insurance: If you have ever got your treatment done on health insurance, then you would know that insurance companies already have tie-ups with many hospitals, where you get the benefit of cashless treatment.
But if you had to get your treatment done from a hospital which was not in the network of your insurance companies, then you had to pay this bill from your own pocket. However, this bill was settled later. But now you will get cashless treatment in every hospital. For this, GIC has started a new campaign.
General Insurance Council (GIC) has started a new initiative called Cashless Everywhere for health insurance policy holders. Under this campaign, now the policy holder will get the facility of cashless treatment in every hospital.
What is the current arrangement?
Let us tell you that earlier health insurance policy holders used to get this facility only if the health insurance company already had a tie-up with the hospital. If the insurance company did not already have a tie-up with the hospital, then the hospital bill had to be paid from the pocket. This bill has to be settled later through claim.
Information will have to be given 48 hours in advance
According to this new initiative of the General Insurance Council (GIC), to avail cashless facility in any hospital, the policy holder will have to inform his insurance company at least 48 hours in advance. All general and health insurance companies are jointly launching the facility of Cashless Everywhere.
