Health Insurance: Cover up to Rs 5 lakh, know what the companies are offering?

2024 Election Health Insurance: Right now not everyone in the country has health insurance. They are afraid that when will they have to go to the hospital and then where will the money come from? Those who have got a cover of Rs 5 lakh are considering it inadequate. Before the 2024 elections, the government has prepared a big plan.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are near. The interim budget is to be presented in February. Before this, good news has come for the people who are in tension regarding health insurance. Yes, the central government is going to expand the Ayushman scheme.

The report of ‘Bhaskar’ has claimed that the government is thinking of doubling the limit of treatment expenses under Ayushman Yojana to Rs 10 lakh. If this happens then the impact of this decision will be widespread. About 41 crore people in the country do not have any health insurance.

Understand the complete plan of the government

  • According to the report, the limit of Rs 5 lakh for treatment can be increased to Rs 10 lakh.
  • About 41 crore people who currently do not have health insurance can also be included in the scope of this scheme.
  • At present, the target is to bring a total of 60 crore people under the Ayushman scheme, which is yet to be completed.

Middle class bat-bat!

A few weeks ago, during the Chhattisgarh elections, BJP had also promised to provide health insurance of Rs 10 lakh. Now this can be done at the national level under ‘Modi’s Guarantee’. However, it is not yet clear whether it will be introduced at the time of elections or will be brought in the first budget.

The special thing is that middle class families above the poverty line can also be included in the free treatment scheme. The remaining population i.e. upper middle class can be covered through minimum premium. If this happens, then something similar to the social security that is talked about for the entire population in western countries including America can be seen in India too.
