In view of the increasing medical expenses, health insurance has become very important in today’s time.
For this reason, a large number of people buy health insurance, but it is seen that many times your claim is rejected by the health insurance company at the time of need. In view of this problem, we have spoken to Rakesh Goyal, Director, Probus Insurance Brokers, and tried to know the reasons due to which health insurance claims get rejected.
For what reasons is the health insurance claim rejected?
1. Disease not covered: Many times, claims are rejected by insurance companies due to waiting period or a particular disease not being covered under insurance. For this reason, while taking insurance, one should always check which diseases are covered by it.
2.Chronic disease: Chronic diseases are not covered by most insurance companies. In such a situation, whenever any claim related to these comes, the insurance companies reject it.
3. Not filing the claim on time: Every insurance company gives a deadline to file the claim. If it leaves, it becomes difficult for you to file a claim.
4.Non-authorization: For some diseases, it is necessary to take pre-approval or authorization from the insurance company. In such a situation, if you are getting treatment for any disease which comes under authorization, then get the treatment done only after taking approval from the insurance company. With this you will not have to face any problem in taking the claim.
5. Hiding information: Many times the insurance holder does not give correct information about his health to the insurance company, but when the report is examined by the doctors, the disease comes out clearly. In such a situation the claim is rejected by the company.
