Cyber crime cases are increasing rapidly. Thugs keep trying to rob people in new ways. Now a new case has come to the fore from Noida, where a senior citizen couple was duped of Rs 8.24 lakh. All this happened due to searching a number in Google. In this case, the police have registered an FIR and started investigation.
Actually, a senior citizen couple lives in Sector 133 of Noida. The couple was looking online for the customer care number for their dishwasher when the incident happened. This case of cheating is of 22 and 23 January. Police investigation is still going on.
In a report till date, it has been told that Amarjit Singh and his wife were searching the customer care number of IFB Dishwasher on Google. Meanwhile, his wife searched on Google and found a number- 1800258821. Which was present on IFB Customer Care on Google.
However, later this number was showing as the customer care of Bandhan Bank. According to the recorded report, the victim asked his wife to call on this number. Then a lady picked up the phone and said that her senior will talk to you.
Then this officer ie thug asked the victim’s wife to download AnyDesk app on the phone and asked for some details. Then asked to pay Rs 10 for filing a complaint. Even during this process, the thugs called the victim’s wife several times from her personal number.
After this, Rs 2.25 lakh was deducted from the old man’s account at 4:15 pm on the same day. Then the next morning a transaction of Rs 5.99 lakh took place. After this, the victim informed the police and the bank about the incident and got the joint account frozen.
Let us tell you that such incidents have happened in the past as well. Criminals keep adding fake numbers to Google, due to which people get tricked. That’s why contact should be removed only from the official site or app and any kind of app should not be downloaded in the phone at the behest of anyone.
