Natural Farming: Different schemes are run for the farmers by the Central Government and the State Governments. The 13th installment of the Centre’s most ambitious scheme PM Kisan has come into the farmers’ account in February. Now the farmers across the country are waiting for the 14th installment.
But before this, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced to start a new scheme for the farmers of the state. On behalf of the government, it was said that with the encouragement of about one and a half lakh farmers doing natural farming in Himachal Pradesh, they would be certified under the Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojana (PK3Y).
28 percent farmers did natural farming without training
Agriculture Secretary Rakesh Kanwar said that according to a study, 28 per cent farmers have adopted natural farming techniques on their own, learning from each other without any training. Therefore, in this financial year, the main focus of ‘Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojana’ will be on gathering the farmers doing natural farming.
In a statement issued by the government, it was said that in a meeting of Agriculture Department officials to discuss the package-based agriculture development program in the state, the Agriculture Secretary said that in the year 2023-24, about 1.5 lakh farmers doing natural farming would be certified. will be attempted.
Kanwar said that the focus should be on things like consolidation of existing farmers, increasing their area under natural farming, organizing workshops and capacity building training. He said that the response and success in the results at the ground level shows that everyone is convinced that natural farming techniques are beneficial and ‘we need to take this effort further for overall benefit in agriculture’.
