Ujjwala scheme: This is the first budget of the new BJP government led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Many schemes and projects have been proposed in this budget, some of which are the promises made by the BJP in its manifesto.

CM Bhupendra Patel: A budget of Rs 3.01 lakh crore was presented by the Gujarat government. In this, the people of the state were not burdened with any new tax. Gujarat Finance Minister Kanu Desai presented the budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the assembly. This is the first budget of the new BJP government led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Many schemes and projects have been proposed in this budget, some of which are the promises made by the BJP in its manifesto.

Insurance limit increased to Rs 10 lakh

During the budget, it was announced to double the annual insurance limit to Rs 10 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya-Maa Amritam Yojana for eligible families. Along with this, providing two cooking gas cylinders free of cost every year to families under the Ujjwala scheme is included. Finance Minister Desai said that the estimates for 2023-24 show a surplus of Rs 916.87 crore. He said that there has been a substantial increase in the budgetary provision. This is 23.38 percent more than the previous year.

No proposal to impose any new tax There

is no proposal to impose any new tax in the budget. Desai said that the state government aims to increase the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) to more than Rs 42 lakh crore. He told that the Gujarat government will spend about Rs 5 lakh crore on the development of infrastructure in the next five years.

Apart from this, five highways will be developed as high speed corridors in Gujarat at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore. He informed that the Gujarat government will spend Rs 1,066 crore next year to provide houses to about one lakh people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
