Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced free registration under ‘Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme’ (Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana). Announcing the extension of the scheme to all EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), the Chief Minister said that people with an annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh will not have to pay the premium of the Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana.

That is, if your annual income is 8 lakh rupees or less, then you will be given health insurance free of cost by the government. The premium amount will be paid by the state government for families with income less than 8 lakhs of all classes including General, Other Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. This announcement was made during a program organized by Gehlot at the Chief Minister’s residence.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has made an additional provision of Rs. 425 crore for this. During this, online foundation stone laying and inauguration of 249 works worth Rs 771 crore were also done. He also flagged off 10 Chiranjeevi Janani Express ambulances and 25 mobile food testing ambulances.
What is the scheme
Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme was started in 2021 by the Government of Rajasthan. Under the earlier scheme, cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh was provided annually to each family. After this, Chief Minister Gehlot increased the cover under the scheme from 5 lakh to 10 lakh in the financial year 2022-23. After this, this amount was increased to Rs 25 lakh for 2023-24.
Accident insurance of Rs.5 lakh
Accident insurance of Rs.5 lakh is also being given to each Chiranjeevi family by the government. Under the scheme, families taking advantage of the scheme can also get treatment for serious diseases like black fungus, cancer, paralysis, heart surgery, neuro surgery, organ transplant, Kovid-19.
