What is its purpose?
The insurance sector is constantly expanding, so the career prospects are also increasing here. Keeping this in mind, LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana has been started. This scheme has been launched with the aim of increasing the participation of women in the insurance sector. By joining this, women can become LIC agents and become financially strong.
How much money do you get?
The most special thing about this scheme is that women start earning as soon as they join it. LIC gives three years of training to eligible women to become agents. During this time, they are also given some money every month. According to the information available on LIC’s website, women who become a part of LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana are given a stipend of Rs 7000 per month in the first year, Rs 6000 in the second year and Rs 5000 per month in the third year.
What to do?
Under the ‘LIC Bima Sakhi’ scheme, women have to sell insurance policies. They have to meet the annual target set by LIC. They are also given commission for selling policies. So far 52511 registrations have been done under this scheme and out of these, 27695 women have been issued appointment letters to sell policies. 14583 Bima Sakhis have also started selling policies.
Who can become a part?
Any 10th pass woman between 18 to 70 years can apply for this scheme. Relatives of existing agents or LIC employees will not be eligible for this scheme. Similarly, retired employees of LIC or former agents cannot become a part of it.
How can you apply?
Application can be done offline i.e. by visiting the nearest office of LIC or online on the official website. Along with the application, you will have to attach two latest passport size photographs, age proof, address proof and self-attested copy of 10th certificate. Along with this, bank account details will also have to be given.
