March 31 was fixed as the last date for adding nominees to Demat account holders. This meant that from April 1, such account holders could not invest in the stock market, but now SEBI has increased it.
The market regulatory board has extended the demat account deadline for six months. Now demat account holders can complete this work by 30 September 2023. The market regulator has said in its circular issued on March 27 that on the basis of demat accounts with trading in which nomination details have not been updated, they can now get updated by September 30, 2023.
