Assistant Agriculture Officer of Agriculture Department Sirohi, Narpat Singh said that farmers can register a complaint of crop loss within 72 hours on Krishi Rakshak Portal or toll-free number 14447 for compensation.
Compensation is given for these incidents
In Sirohi district, farmers had insured their crops under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana this season. Now the farmers whose crops have been damaged due to storm or other reasons are trying to get a claim for the loss. Under the insurance scheme, farmers are compensated for the loss caused by drought, flood, insect infestation, hailstorm and other natural disasters.
In case of damage after harvesting, it is necessary to inform the Crop Insurance App or the local Agriculture Department. Within 48 hours of receiving the information, the insurance company appoints a surveyor, who completes the survey in the presence of the Agriculture Department and the farmer.
Farmers with KCC are automatically insured
Farmers who have Kisan Credit Card (KCC) are insured by the bank. Farmers whose crops sown in their Khasra have been damaged as per the Girdawari of the current year should also lodge a complaint within 72 hours. This will not cause any problem in the claim. Some information may be sought by the crop insurance company while filing a complaint for claim.
In this, information like crop insurance policy number, name and area of the insured crop, name of the KCC account holder and weather season, name and branch of the bank etc. can be sought.
