Chief Minister Mangala Animal Insurance Scheme: Chief Minister Mangala Animal Insurance Scheme has been started in an important scheme for cattle rearers in Rajasthan. Under this scheme, animals will be insured up to Rs 5 lakh each.
Keeping in mind the interests of the livestock farmers, the Rajasthan government has started the Chief Minister Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana under the budget announcement in the financial year 2024-25 to provide financial security, economic strengthening to the livestock farmers by insuring their invaluable livestock,
under which 5-5 lakh milch cows, 5-5 lakh buffaloes, sheep, goats and 1 lakh camel breed animals (camels) will be insured in the state. The last date to apply for this scheme has been fixed as 31 January.
Under this scheme, insurance coverage of Rs 40,000 will be available for cow, buffalo and camel and Rs 4,000 for sheep-goat (female). The government has made a provision of Rs 400 crore for this scheme. If applications are received in large numbers, then selection will be done through lottery system.
These will get the benefit
The benefit of this scheme will be given to Gopal Credit Card holders, beneficiaries of Lakhpati Didi Yojana and Jan Aadhar Card holder livestock farmers. Each beneficiary can get maximum 2 milch animals (cow, buffalo or both), 10 goats, 10 sheep and 1 camel insured free of cost.

How to apply
Animal keepers can apply through mobile app (MMPBY), web portal (https://mmpby.rajasthan.gov.in) or e-Mitra center till 31 January. This scheme is an important initiative to provide financial security to the livestock farmers of the state.

By implementing this scheme by the government, livestock farmers will get an opportunity to insure their animals without any additional cost, so that they will not have to suffer financial loss in times of disaster or disease.
