Keeping this problem in mind, private sector non-life insurance company ICICI Lombard General Insurance has launched the DIY (Do-it-Yourself) feature. Its name is ‘InstaSpect’ (Insta Spectae). It has been launched under the IL TakeCare App.
This feature eliminates the need to take stock of the damages of vehicles through physical survey. Instead, a live streaming option has been included in it, which gives a virtual assessment of the damaged vehicle. This reduces the claim approval time to just a few hours.
Approving claim sitting at home
The company claims that since its inception, more than 10 lakh motor insurance claims have been approved. In this new normal in the digital era, InstaSpect has picked up a very good pace and now more and more people are getting claim settlement done without leaving the house in this era of Corona.
Agents and surveyors were facing difficulties in traveling due to social distancing during the Corona era. Thus, InstaSpect has emerged as the easiest way to claim motor insurance without any hassles and delays.
Verification will be done through video call
It was launched in 2018 and since then it has become extremely popular among the customers across the country. It includes many interactive features like instant survey through live video call.

This mobile self-inspection feature eliminates the need for physical examination of vehicles. The customer just has to open the ‘IL TakeCare app’ and click on the ‘InstaSpect’ option
. It connects customers with claims managers. The claims manager guides the customer through live video streaming and assesses the damage done to the vehicle online.
Gets approval in a few hours
The claims manager gives a rough estimate of damages and liability to the customer. The customer can then accept the claims manager’s assessment. This allows the claim to be extended for further approval immediately.
After this, the claims manager instructs the nearest garage in the network to bring the vehicle. This instructs the garage to be ready immediately so that repairs can be started as soon as the vehicle arrives.
