Arvind Kejriwal’s big announcement, auto drivers in Delhi will have insurance of Rs 10 lakh, will get Rs 1 lakh each on daughter’s marriage

Even before the announcement of the dates of assembly elections in Delhi, political activities have gained momentum. Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal made a big announcement on Tuesday and said that an insurance of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the auto drivers of Delhi. Along with this, a help of Rs 1 lakh will also be given on the marriage of a daughter.

Even before the announcement of the dates of assembly elections in Delhi, political activities have gained momentum. Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal made a big announcement on Tuesday and said that life insurance of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the auto drivers of Delhi. Along with this, a help of Rs 1 lakh will also be given on the marriage of daughter.

Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “I have eaten the salt of auto walas. Today I am making five big announcements for them.”

He said, “If our government is formed in Delhi, the government will give one lakh rupees for the marriage of the daughter of an auto driver. Also, they will be given Rs 2500 separately for uniform twice a year on Holi and Diwali. Apart from this, the government will bear the entire cost of coaching for competitive exams of their children.”

Along with life insurance, accident insurance too

Announcing insurance for auto drivers, the former Chief Minister said that the Delhi government will also provide life insurance of Rs 10 lakh to auto drivers. Apart from this, accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh will also be provided to them. ‘Poochho App’ will be restarted. He said that the AAP government stood with the auto drivers, is standing with them and will always stand with them.

He said that when our government is formed again in Delhi in February next year, these things will be implemented. Auto drivers are very poor. They face problems when they get their daughter married. Now if any auto driver’s daughter gets married, he will be given Rs 1 lakh by the government.

Referring to the expenses of uniform for auto drivers, Kejriwal said that it is mandatory for auto drivers to wear uniform. It becomes difficult for them to get the uniform made. Therefore, twice a year (Holi and Diwali), the government will give Rs 2500 each for getting the uniform made.

What is ‘Poocho App’
The ‘Poocho App’ allows people to access a database of mobile numbers of registered auto drivers developed by the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System and call them to book a ride.

Elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly are scheduled to be held in February next year. The Aam Aadmi Party, pitted against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, is continuously trying to remain in power on its own for the third consecutive time.
