Crop insurance: Farmers should get their crops insured by this date, there is no need for those with loans to go

District Agriculture Officer Ritusha Tiwari said that now as the paddy season approaches, the farmers who want to insure their crops should get their crops insured. 31st July has been fixed as the last date.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is a scheme of the Government of India. Its purpose is to reduce the damage caused to the farmers’ crops due to natural disasters. In Moradabad, UP, crop insurance is also being done by the Agriculture Department. Its last date has been fixed as 31st July. The farmer who wants to get himself insured can do so by 31st July, as fixed by the Agriculture Department. The farmer who does not want to get himself insured, should give it in writing to the concerned bank by 24th July, otherwise they should get themselves insured, so that they can get compensation for the crop.

She said that the request from the Agriculture Department will be that more and more farmers should get their crops insured so that if any natural disaster occurs, be it hailstorm or flood, they will get compensation through this insurance.

Farmers with loans will be automatically insured

He told that for insurance, our KCC farmers, who have taken loan, their insurance is automatically done by the bank. Those who do not want to get it done, should give it in writing by 24th July, otherwise their insurance will be done automatically. Along with this, if the non-ready farmers want to get themselves insured, then they can give the necessary documents to the representative of the concerned insurance company IFFCO Tokio Top Insurance Limited Company or can give them in the District Agriculture Officer’s office. Apart from this, the documents can be given in the Deputy Agriculture Director’s office or can also be given in the concerned bank branch.
