IRDAI Website Restore: The online portal of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI), the regulatory body of the insurance sector, i.e. its website was down but now at 1 pm the website is running smoothly. Today on 20th February, users were unable to open this site and this was discussed in many news.

Now in the afternoon the IRDAI website has been fixed but in the morning with this message (see picture) IRDAI had assured that the technical problems will be resolved soon and it has happened.

30 day look in period proposal
Insurance regulator IRDAI has recently prepared a proposal under which insurance customers are soon going to get a great facility in the country. Those purchasing any life insurance or general insurance product can get a free-look period of 30 days. Currently, insurance customers get a free-look period of 15 days.
IRDAI has also initiated the draft of ‘Bima Sugam’
On February 14, insurance regulator IRDAI issued an exposure draft on electronic marketplace ‘Bima Sugam’ or digital public infrastructure. It can be considered as a one-stop solution or protocol on which everything from purchasing, selling, servicing and claim settlement of insurance policies can be handled.
