The special thing is that in this PM Crop Insurance Scheme, Kharif Crops Insurance is done at only 2 percent premium. The remaining premium is paid by the government. In this way, farmers get the benefit of insurance at a very cheap rate through this scheme.

How much premium do farmers have to pay?

Under PM Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers have to pay 2 percent of the insurance amount for Kharif crops, 1.5 percent for Rabi crops, and a maximum of 5 percent for cash crops. Under the crop insurance scheme, farmers are informed within 72 hours of crop loss. Under PM Crop Insurance Scheme, 18 insurance companies, 1.7 lakh bank branches and 44000 common service centers are providing services to provide benefits in 27 states and union territories.

Know how to apply for PM Crop Insurance Scheme

You can apply by visiting the Prime Minister Crop Insurance portal (www.pmfby.gov.in). Along with this, farmers can also apply through PMFBY AIDE app sitting at home. Apart from this, farmers can also apply for this scheme by visiting Jan Seva.

Give information within 72 hours

If your crop has suffered heavy damage due to rain or natural disaster, then you will have to inform the insurance company within 72 hours under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The insurance company will see how much of the crop has been damaged. After this assessment the further process will begin. Then the compensation amount will be sent to the farmers’ accounts.
