New Delhi: Insurance sector regulator IRDA said on Monday that the health insurance policy covering the expenses related to the treatment of Kovid-19 will also cover the treatment of infection caused by Omicron (Health Insurance will cover Omicron Treatment cost). The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) said in a release, “All health insurance policies issued by all companies in the general and health insurance sector, which cover the expenses related to the treatment of Kovid-19, are eligible for Corona.” The new form of the virus will also cover the cost of treatment of people infected with Omicron (Health Insurance will cover Omicron Treatment cost).
The insurance regulator had also ordered to bear the expenses related to the treatment of Kovid-19.
In view of the rapidly increasing Omicron cases in the country, the general and health insurance companies have been issued instructions that they should coordinate with all their network providers and hospitals.

Omicron infection is spreading rapidly
For the last few days, not only the cases of Kovid-19 infection are increasing very fast across the country, but the number of people infected with Omicron form is also increasing. More than 1,700 cases of Omicron infection have been reported in a month itself.
Among these, Maharashtra leads with 510 cases while its infection is also increasing in Delhi (351), Kerala (156), Gujarat (136), Tamil Nadu (121) and Rajasthan (120). According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, with the increase in the number of infections, the total active cases have increased to more than 1.45 lakh.
