LIC and Adani Wilmar included in Amphi’s largecap stock category, what will be its effect? check here

Amfi has released its latest stock category. This list of amphi is prepared on half yearly basis. This new list will be valid from August 2022 to January 2023. The market cut off for large cap is currently Rs 475 billion and for midcap the cut off is Rs 164 billion.

Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi) has released its latest stock category list. In this list, LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Adani Wilmer have joined the largecap stock category of Amphi.

Shares of Adani Wilmar, the edible oil producer of the Gautam Adani-led Adani Group, have given strong returns. After its listing, the shares of this company have given multibagger returns of more than 118 percent. At the same time, the insurance giant since its listing on the stock exchanges on May 17, 2022.LICShares have fallen by almost 20%.

list on half yearly basis

This list of amphi is prepared on half yearly basis. This new list will be valid from August 2022 to January 2023. The market cut off for large cap is currently Rs 475 billion and for midcap the cut off is Rs 164 billion. Newly listed Vedanta Fashion and Delhivery are the direct additions to the midcap category in the AMFI list. At the same time, Motherson Sumi Wiring has been separated from the parent company Motherson Sumi Systems Limited.

New listing in small cap category

AGS Transact Technologies, UMA Exports, Veranda Learning, Hariom Pipes, Campus Activewear, Rainbow Children Medicare, Prudent Corp Ed, Venus Pipes, Paradip Phosphate and Ethos Ltd are the latest listings in the small cap category. As per SEBI, listed stocks should be clearly classified into largecap, midcap and smallcap categories. This is to ensure uniformity in terms of investment for equity mutual fund schemes.

Category by market cap

Further, SEBI has also stipulated that AMFI shall prepare a list of shares in this regard. AMFI in consultation with SEBI and stock exchanges prepares the list of shares with classification based on market cap as provided by BSE, NSE and MSEI. There are investment rules for mutual fund houses based on this category. They have to invest different fixed part of the capital in different categories.
