Good news for Jharkhand state employees, Hemant government started insurance scheme

Jharkhand government implemented health insurance scheme for state employees, under which government employees and retired employees will get treatment facilities.

The Jharkhand government has started a health insurance scheme for state employees. Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched this scheme in the assembly premises. This insurance scheme has been implemented in collaboration with Tata AIG General Insurance Company.

Under this scheme, all the government employees, retired personnel and contract workers of the state will get the benefit of health insurance. On this occasion, many ministers and officials including Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato, Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Minister Radhakrishna Kishore were present.

The scheme was made in 2014, approved in 2025

In the program, Health Department Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh said that the proposal for this scheme was brought in 2014, but it could not be implemented. In January 2025, the government approved it and now it has been officially implemented. This scheme has been implemented in five other states including Jharkhand. Under this insurance scheme, coverage of pre-existing diseases will also be available.

Digital portal also launched

A digital portal was also launched to make this scheme effective. The data of all MLAs, ministers and government employees will be uploaded on this portal. After this, the insured person will be provided a health insurance card, which they can use during treatment.

Assembly Speaker called the scheme important

Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato called the scheme a historic step for the state employees. He said that the important decisions taken by the state government are being discussed all over the country. He also said that there were constant discussions with MLAs and former MLAs regarding health and now a concrete step has been taken through this scheme.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren called it an important step

Chief Minister Hemant Soren described the scheme as very important and personally significant. He said that this scheme was very necessary in view of the increasing health problems. He said that today the cost of treatment has increased a lot and it is not easy for everyone to afford it. He admitted that there are many challenges regarding health facilities in the state, but the government is constantly trying to improve even with limited resources.

The Chief Minister said, “At the time of Covid-19, when the entire country was under lockdown, our government worked to ensure that our citizens reach their homes safely. This state is struggling with poverty and backwardness, but we are constantly working to overcome it.”

Minorities will also get the benefit of the scheme

The Chief Minister said that this health insurance scheme will benefit all government employees as well as people of the minority community. He hoped that this will provide better medical facilities to the people of the state.
