7th Pay Commission: Before Holi, there is good news for central employees. Holi is on March 8 and after Holi, the central government employees are going to get a double dose of good news. Although earlier it was expected that like the farmers, the central employees would also get the gift of Holi before March 8, but this could not happen. Now news is coming that after Holi, the central government is going to give not one but two gifts to its employees.
According to the information received from the sources, after Holi, the central government may announce a 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance of the central employees (7th Pay Commission). Along with this, the government can also give green signal to increase the fitment factor.
In fact, 62 lakh central employees and 48 lakh pensioners have been waiting for an increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for a long time. According to the information, in the cabinet meeting held on March 1 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has given green signal to increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief. But no press conference was organized on this cabinet meeting nor was any press release issued by the government. Due to which it has not been announced yet. Earlier speculations were rife that by announcing this before Holi, the Prime Minister can give a big gift to more than one crore central employees and pensioners across the country, but this could not happen.
Now news is coming that soon after Holi the Prime Minister can make a big announcement on DA (7th Pay Commission) hike and fitment factor. If this happens, dearness allowance will increase by 4 percent from 38 to 42 percent.
After the notification of increase in dearness allowance is issued, the increase in salary of central employees and pension of pensioners will be implemented. According to the information, if everything goes well, the salary for March will be paid along with the new dearness allowance. While the arrears of January and February will be received. The increased dearness allowance and relief will be applicable from January 1, 2023 itself.
Increase in fitment factor
At the same time, the matter of revision in the Fitment Factor of the Central Government is also fast. Central employees are continuously demanding increase in fitment factor. Therefore, after the Union Budget, the government can make a big announcement on increasing the revision in the fitment factor. If there is an increase in the fitment factor, then there can be a big increase in the salary of the employees.
At present, fitment factor is being given to central employees at the rate of 2.57 per cent. There is a demand to increase it to 3.68 times. With the increase in fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68, the minimum basic pay will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. If the central government accepts this demand, then there will be a tremendous increase in the minimum salary of the central employees.
Significantly, the last time the fitment factor was increased in the year 2016. The 7th Pay Commission was also implemented in the same year. At that time the minimum salary of the employees went straight from Rs 6000 to Rs 18,000. While the ceiling was increased from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh. Now the government can again increase the salary of central employees this year.
